At last Friday's ITI general meeting, seven new board members were elected for the 2025 to 2027 term of office: Yvonne Griesel (surtitler, translator, and interpreter, Berlin), Nora Hertlein-Hull (director of Theatertreffen, Berlin), Jan Linders (program director at Humboldt Forum, Berlin), Felicitas Löwe (former artistic director, tjg – theater junge generation, Dresden), Stawrula Panagiotaki (director, studiobühneköln), Nina Reiprich (co-director, fluctoplasma Festival, Hamburg), and Sophia Stepf (artistic director, Flinn Works, Berlin).
Matthias Gehrt, Nora Amin, Almut Wagner, Maria Rößler, and Ihsan Othmann stepped down.

Prior, the ITI celebrated its 70th anniversary with a festive dinner event followed by the annual conference entitled The Power of Mutual Understanding. On the evening of November 27, old and new partners, friends, and companions of the ITI gathered to report on the successes, challenges, and insights gained from international cooperation. On behalf of the Commissioner for Culture and the Media and of the Cultural Foundation of the German Federal States, Ingo Mix and Dr. Christine Regus expressed their gratitude for the ITI's many years of dedicated work. During the course of the evening, Nicola Brandt, Shota Bukoshi, Christian Katzer, Maina Kiai, and Dr. Mariam Salehi shared their experiences in the field of international cooperation in keynote speeches. The ITI Annual Conference on November 28 focused on artistic collaboration: touring artists and On the Move discussed perspectives on cross-border mobility. ITI Academy Lab residents Lloyd Nyikadzino and Deepika Arwind provided insights into their artistic practice, and Natasha Borenko explored theatre as a means of conflict resolution with her workshop guests. In the afternoon, the curators' discussions on THEATER DER WELT, which will take place in Chemnitz next year, aroused great interest: Yuan Zhang, Ndèye Mané Touré, Simon Abraham, Srishti Ray, Rodrigo González Alvarado, and Joshua Dalledonne, a total of six of the nine members of the THEATER DER WELT 2026 curatorial board, had come to Berlin.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone involved.
