Internship in project management and communications


Are you looking for versatile tasks and the chance to get involved in a globally operating cultural-political network? Are you looking for an exciting and challenging job where you can support our project manager in the implementation of the ITI Academy? Then this is your chance! 

The German Centre of the International Theatre Institute is a section of the International Theatre Institute. As an interest group and information centre for the performing arts, we are committed to their free development and the preservation of the diversity of their forms of expression. We promote international cooperation between artists and advocate for their rights in national and international initiatives, associations and committees. In our work, we initiate and accompany dialogue between scholarly research and practice in the performing arts. Our information portals, publications and the media library provide public access to this knowledge. Theatre artists and representatives of associations and institutions from all areas of the performing arts are involved in our network. To support our team, we are looking for two part-time or full-time interns (20 to 40 weekly hours) for a period of 12 weeks starting in April or May 2026.

Your tasks

  • Project-related assistance (communication, organization)
  • Support in the planning, organizing, and communication work for the International Workshop THEATER ÜBERSETZEN in Mülheim, the ITI Academy, and the ITI Conference during the international festival THEATER DER WELT in Chemnitz (18 June to 5 July 2026)
  • Communication with participants, and support of the events on-site in Mülheim and Chemnitz
  • Support with editorial work on texts in German and/or English (research, writing, proofreading)
  • Co-management of social media channels: conception, planning, and implementation of posts for Instagram/Facebook using Canva or InDesign (or comparable programs)
  • Creation and maintenance of content on the website
  • Editing of the newsletter

Your profile

  • Student in a field related to the area of responsibility (theater studies, dramaturgy, cultural studies, cultural management, or similar) or a comparable qualification
  • Knowledge of working with graphic and digital design programs
  • Very good written and oral communication skills in German and fluent in English
  • A structured and independent way of working as well as team orientation
