Moving Identities is a residency and exchange programme (2023-2026) led by various venues and performing arts organisations in Europe - with the aim of promoting cross-border and intercultural cooperation and exploring themes such as diversity, integration and contemporary European identities.
The one-year residency is aimed at performing arts groups and collectives based in Denmark, Norway, Germany, Belgium, Spain or Latvia. Moving Identities offers them the opportunity to develop a project and an artistic vision through three paid residencies - one in their country of residence and two abroad at the partner venues. Between and during the residencies, the artists take part in mentoring sessions with the partners on topics such as internationalisation, audience development, sustainability and touring.
The last open call was published in March 2025 and the final round with the selected groups will start in September 2025.
To increase representation in the performing arts, the programme connects venues across Europe who support artist development. It aims to enable an exchange of best practice, challenges, and solutions, amongst artists and organisations across Europe to together find a more inclusive way of supporting performing artists.
