LAB III_The living atlas of extraction

24. - 28. November 2025: LAB III_The living atlas of extraction (Research Phase)
28. November 2025, 10:30 - 12:00 Uhr: OPEN LAB III @ Studio1 -> Anmeldung

Based in Harare, Lloyd Nyikadzino sees theatre as a bridge for dialogue and transformation. For him, the body is a carrier of memories, a place of resistance and a catalyst for conversations about the self in a polarised world. His approach focuses on the possibility of using theatre to create spaces of resonance that connect communities and initiate social change. Deepika Arwind lives between Bangalore and Berlin. She continues within this Lab to develop the idea of a ‘cartography of exploitation.’ She examines how bodies make experiences of global crises visible, and brings these experiences in relation. She has an interest in how this ‘map’ expands through exchange with audiences and communities. Her work thus opens up new perspectives on how art can build solidarity networks and promote collective resilience.

At the end, LAB III will become an open space in which artistic practices become tools for discussion, connection and shared learning – and an invitation to discover new perspectives on resistance, identity and community work. Open LAB III will take place as part of 'THE POWER OF MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING. Why we cooperate'.

Deepika Arwind’s practice often looks at etching an emotional map of the social and political where it intersects with the lived and the personal. She is a writer / performer / transdisciplinary artist between Berlin and Bangalore. Her work has been performed / published in several continents. While her practice is expansive, it often begins with the written word and its possibility of myriad inhabitations. Her upcoming work includes her debut novel Good Arguments being published by Simon & Schuster India, and her play Phantasmagoria (previously produced in London) in Bern in 2026
