Szenenwechsel was a Robert Bosch Stiftung funding programme in cooperation with the ITI Germany, which supported theatres and independent theatre groups from the German-speaking region in developing or producing a play with a partner from Eastern Europe or North Africa.
The starting point for the programme were the profound social changes and upheavals in the countries of Eastern Europe and North Africa, which were increasingly reflected in artistic works. In order to establish sustainable contacts between theatre professionals from German-speaking countries and artists from Eastern Europe and North Africa, approximately ten projects were funded annually with up to 15,000 euros each in six rounds of calls for proposals from 2013 to 2018. The projects could be realised in a period of up to two years.
The closing festival and network meeting XCHANGES took place from 16th to 18th of May 2019 at kampnagel, Hamburg.
Please note that there are no more calls for proposals for this programme.
