elena rose light is STUDIO2's very first residency artist conducting artistic research in the two-week summer residency on the topic of "trans practices". The workshop forms the public round-off of the residency and offers insights into the artistic processes and the work of elena rose light. The workshop "Trans Practices for Trans Pride" (July 30, 2022, 12:00 - 14:00 CET/CEST, STUDIO2) takes place within the framework of Trans Pride.
This is what elena says about the workshop:
"It's Trans Pride in Berlin! The perfect day to ground into our bodies, practice moving in gender euphoria, and witnessing each other as we'd like to be seen. All trans, nonbinary, gender non-conforming, and gender-questioning folks are invited to join me in STUDIO2 on the 2nd floor of Kunstquartier Bethanien for a soft start to your Trans Pride. We'll talk, write, sing, shake, dance...and probably more! All dance/performance experiences levels are welcome. We'll head downstairs to Trans Pride when we finish for more dancing outside! This will culminate my summer choreographic residency at STUDIO2, spent researching “trans practices” — that is, ways of being and moving that support authenticity and respectful witnessing of all types of bodies, especially those that disrupt entrenched social norms."
