The selection of the participating translators for the 24th International Workshop "Translating Theater" has been made.
This year's participants are: Rodrigo González Alvarado (Argentina), Jacek Kaduczak (Poland), Tali Konas (Israel), Alexandre Krug e Silva (Brazil), Veronika Kyrianová (Czech Republic), Katia Pago (Spain), Antoine Palévody (France), Katerina Shekutkovska (North Macedonia), Yali Tong (Taiwan) and Danbi Yi (Korea).
The workshop will take place from May 26th to June 4th as part of the Mülheimer Theatertrage. The focus will be on the concrete work of the translators on the plays nominated for the 48th Mülheimer Theatertage and the exchange of experiences with colleagues and authors. Accompanying events will contribute to a better understanding of the cultural and political environment of the plays and of contemporary German-language theater. These will be public audience discussions after the performances as well as conversations with authors, dramaturges, publishers and directors. A two-day seminar focus on surtiteling will be offered for the first time and will provide an introduction as well as the opportunity for practical testing.
