Open Call: Moving Identities

Moving Identities offers a unique platform for artistic development through cross-border residencies, creative exchange, mentoring and workshops.

Are you part of a group of artists based in Denmark, Norway, Germany, Belgium, Spain or Latvia? Are you interested in exploring the themes of diversity, inclusion and belonging in Europe?
Moving Identities offers you the opportunity to develop a project idea and an artistic vision through three paid residencies - one in your country of residence and two abroad at partner organisations.

Who can apply?

  •     Companies/groups (minimum two people) with a strong artistic vision and/or practice related to the themes of contemporary European identities, inclusion and diversity.
  •     This call is aimed at performing artists working in the fields of performance, dance and theatre.
  •     All artistic approaches are welcome (research, artistic activism, production, social engagement, etc.).
  •     All members of the group must be residents of the country from which they are applying and have a valid work permit - but they do not have to be citizens of their country of residence. The country must be one of the Moving Identities countries (Denmark, Norway, Germany, Belgium, Spain or Latvia).
  • Not all of our residency partners are equipped for productions, therefore projects in the research phase are favoured.

Application deadline: 24 April 2025

Moving Identities is a residency programme run by venues and performing arts organisations from several European countries with the aim of promoting cross-cultural collaboration, exploring themes such as diversity, inclusion and contemporary European identity, and supporting artists in developing their careers internationally.

The residency partners for the 2025 call are the organisations Nau Ivanow (Barcelona, Spain), Davii - Centre for Performing Arts (Hammerfest, Norway), Hellerau (Dresden, Germany), Iinitium (Riga, Latvia), Udviklingsplatformen for Scenekunst (UP) (Copenhagen, Denmark) and Kunstplaats Vonk (Hasselt, Belgium). The ITI is one of the counselling partners and supports the fellows in the further development of their projects. The programme is funded by Creative Europe.
