Since 2008, the ITI Music Theatre NOW Network (MTNN) has hosted an international competition every three years. Since then, more than 1,000 world premieres of contemporary opera and music theatre have participated in Music Theatre NOW; the presentation of the winning productions at the meeting Music Theatre NOW has often served as a springboard for the international careers of artists and projects.

The next edition of the competition is planned for 2021. The call for entries will be announced in the spring of the same year. 

ITI Germany was a cooperation partner of Music Theatre NOW until 2019 and manages the competition’s archive.
